Dedication program

              HAIL, PROGRESS!  The founding of a new and Greater Kettle Falls at this site was made necessary when the finger of progress turned a new page in history ... a page dealing with that epochal event. . .. completion of that wonder of the modern age, the Grand Coulee dam.  Soon, where the mighty Columbia has surged for ages, fleets of streamlined lake vessels will be traversing a huge, placid lake, the world's largest man-made body of water.  Gone will be the scenic kettles and falls. No more will the eye of man see instinct-driven salmon hurl themselves in through the spray and up over the foaming falls.  The passing of the land that our forefathers knew will be replaced with a lake carrying on its bosom snug cargoes of good fortune for this and succeeding generations.
