Mrs, Bradley
Mrs. Blanche Bradley, long
time resident of Wahkiakum County and member of a pioneer family, died Thursday in a Longview
hospital at the age of 79.
She was born October 20, 1891,
in Montesano, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. J.W. Heron. Soon after
her birth, the family returned to
their native Michigan, but moved
west again in 1911 and settled in
Skamokawa.
Mrs. Bradley served the community in many capacities, including her work as Cathlamet city
council member, Cathlamet city
treasurer, director of the Wahkiakum County Bank, and the first
woman auditor in Wahkiakum
County.
Mrs. Bradley was involved in
the American Red Cross and
other civic organizations and was
an ,active member of St. James
Episcopal church in Cathlamet.
In 1968 she was selected Wahkiakum County Senior citizen.

Mrs. Bradley was well- known
for her thoughtful kindnesses and
helpfulness.
Mrs. Bradley's father, the late
J.W. Heron was a former mayor
of Cathlamet and her mother was
one of the early teachers in this
area.
Her husband, the late Harold
Bradley, was a member of a
family of long-time timber operators from Minnesota whose timber interests extended to this area
and included mill operations at
Bradwood, Ore.
Survivors include a sister, Frances Hei on Campbell of Portland,
Ore.; a daughter, Harriett Tegart
of Portland. Ore.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran
church on Puget Island with the
Rev. Chester Shulda and Father
Norman Stockwell in charge. Interment followed at Fernhill Cemetery in Skamokawa. Dowling
Funeral Home of Cathlamet was
in charge of arrangements.
